Teacher of the Visually Impaired

The Teacher of the Visually Impaired works with students with a visual impairment. She works on strengthening visual concepts and skills, organization in the classroom, large print and Braille instruction, and consultation with teachers.

Danette Johnson is the vision itinerant. She travels throughout Ford, Iroquois, and Kankakee counties serving students with a visual impairment. Services are usually given in addition to the academic support the student is receiving. She also offers strategies for the teachers to help the students succeed.
